Purchase details for banks
When a cardholder asks their bank about a charge they don't recognize, Visa Order Insight and Mastercard Consumer Clarity ask funnelsgrove for the purchase details. The bank shows the answer to the cardholder. A clear answer helps the cardholder recognize the charge, so they don't dispute it.
The answer is built from your Stripe payment and from the merchant details you submitted in Chargeback Prevention. Stripe is the source of truth for product details: funnelsgrove reads them from your Stripe Prices and Products.

Product details
funnelsgrove uses the first value it finds for each field:
| Field | 1. Price metadata | 2. Fallback | 3. Fallback |
|---|---|---|---|
| Name | prevent_name | Price nickname | Product name |
| Description | prevent_description | Product description | The name above |
| URL | product_url | Product URL | Purchase website from Settings |
The metadata keys apply to one Price. Use them when one Product has several plans, for example weekly, annual or trial. Otherwise, a good Product name and description are enough.
What to write
- Name: the plan as the cardholder knows it. Use your app name, the period and the offer, for example
Acme Weekly Intro Access. Avoid internal labels such asLTV test 2orprice_1Q…. - Description: one sentence describing what was bought, how often it bills, and any trial or introductory price, for example
Introductory weekly access to Acme meal plans and progress tracking. At most 500 characters. - URL: usually nothing to do. Banks receive the Purchase website from Chargeback Prevention → Settings. Set the Stripe Product's URL only when a product has its own page or app-store listing.
Fill the details
In funnelsgrove
Open Project → Integrations → Chargeback Prevention → Purchase details. If you connected prevention through Merchanto, open Project → Integrations → Merchanto and scroll to Purchase details. The page lists each Price from your Stripe account. For each value, it shows what the bank receives and where the value comes from. Missing descriptions are highlighted.
Choose Edit on a Price, fill in the name and description and choose Save to Stripe. funnelsgrove writes prevent_name and prevent_description to that Price's metadata and resyncs your catalog. It doesn't change the Price's other metadata. An empty field removes its key. The URL isn't edited here: it comes from the Stripe Product or, without one, from your Purchase website.
In Stripe
In the Stripe Dashboard, open Product catalog → the product → the price → Metadata, then add the keys. Or use the API:
sh
curl https://api.stripe.com/v1/prices/price_123 \
-u "$STRIPE_SECRET_KEY:" \
-d "metadata[prevent_name]=Acme Weekly Intro Access" \
-d "metadata[prevent_description]=Introductory weekly access to Acme meal plans and progress tracking."After changing Prices in Stripe, choose Sync from Stripe on the Purchase details page. Banks receive the new values only after a sync.
